I don't agree with everything in the book but do appreciate the hard work of the author to summarize a part of history we all need to pay attention to. It is not a book to be rushed through by any means. Don't get me wrong. I've read plenty of books before this one that document elements of these networks. However, I've never read a book before that focuses primarily on documenting the networks themselves. Other writers home in on specific kinds of misbehavior by the elite (financial corruption, sexual deviancy, whatever). All too often, these kinds of stories are focused on exposing one particular kind of person, especially in politics (Democrats are bad! Republicans are corrupt!).
