a b c " The Holiday". Hollywood One-One. YouTube. Archived from the original on December 18, 2013 . Retrieved December 2, 2010. Nancy Meyers's 'The Holiday' is a sweet, cute Romantic-Comedy, that charms you. Its A Lighthearted Joyride, with proficient performances. Next, we meet Cameron Diaz, who's having a terrible fight with her boyfriend, Edward Burns. It's a wonderful introduction to her character as well, because even though she appears to be tough and not as sensitive as Kate Winslet, we see subtleties that indicate she has deep feelings in her she's been repressing for a long time. When twins switch places they both have hard times to adjust in their new lives. Cass has problems to talk to the camera, restraining herself as douchebag co-host who sabotages her efforts, making snarky comments about her work. And sweet physician assistant Miguel already starts to confuse her mind with his gestures. An additional device which adds to the character of Amanda is the use of the stereotypical Hollywood film trailer voice which acts as her inner dialogue.

One of my favourite parts of the book, both couples were so cute, particularly Cass and Michael. Just like with everything else I wish we got to see more of the development, but what we did get to see was SO CUTE! Gardner, Chris (November 23, 2022). I can honestly say this is more logical and more emotional, better version of similar story. Cass is going through some stress of her own. She is trying to break off a relationship with a guy she has been with for 10 years, but he simply will not accept it. On top of that she is running her families bakery which comes with it's on set of issues. Swapping places seems like the perfect solution.

An utterly adorable, pitch-perfect romance with just the right amount of Christmas cheer. The Holiday Swap is a pure delight, I couldn’t stop from smiling.”—Taylor Jenkins Reid, New York Times bestselling author of Daisy Jones & The Six The very best thing about "The Holiday" is Eli Wallach's relatively large part as a great writer from Hollywood's Golden Era. Wallach is especially strong; being ninety years old does not diminish his charisma one whit. Reading The Holiday Swap reminded me of that same feeling...I pretty much knew what to expect, and was therefore okay with something reliable, a bit ho-hum, and safe, rather than exciting.UPtv’s Christmas On Holly Lane airs on Saturday, November 19, at 9 p.m., Eastern. The supporting cast is very important as they make the world feel real, they can literally make or break such movies and the actors who portrayed them were great as well. I am so mad right now, and also conflicted? Because, as I said before, I did enjoy this story. But I just wish with all my heart that for once I'll read something original. Do the twin switching thing, but do it with a twist, do it like no one's done it before. And also, there are other happy endings, other than pregnancy and marriage 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 An utterly adorable, pitch-perfect romance with just the right amount of Christmas cheer. The Holiday Swap is a pure delight, I couldn’t stop from smiling.”– Taylor Jenkins Reid, NYT bestselling author of Daisy Jones & The Six I thoroughly enjoyed this story of finding yourself while being someone else Deliciously fun and wildly romantic . . . like The Great British Bake Off meets Gilmore Girls NICOLE SPERLING (December 12, 2006). " 'Apocalypto' lays to ruins all boxoffice newcomers". The Hollywood Reporter. received an A- from CinemaScore. The PG-13-rated film was, as expected, strongly attended by women, primarily those over 25.When Charlie accidentally bumps her head on set, she loses her sense of taste and smell and fears the timing will put her career in jeopardy...so she decides the only solution is to pull The Big Switch. Will the twins make it through the Twelve Days leading up to Christmas with their true identities hidden? And will some chance meetings with the men in each other's lives lead them in directions they never could have dreamed?

Anyways, I would say for me Charlie’s story arc returning to her hometown(& a small town at that) & realizing the grass isn’t always greener held my interest more between the two sisters tbh. Cass’s story arc is ok, but small town romances are almost always more my jam. Also, the temperament of Cass & her new love were a little too alike imho. I need some contrast. One remarkable thing about this movie is it manages to take three actors, whom I normally dislike so much so that I try to avoid their movies, and completely change my mind about them. With the exception of the film Carnage, which I hadn't seen until years later, I've usually found Kate Winslet's acting style irritating. At the time of its release, The Holiday was the best acting she'd ever done. She's the heart of the movie, and through her moving performance, women everywhere will believe they'll survive after their heart's been broken. I'm the first to admit that my animosity towards Cameron Diaz had everything to do with her similarity to a rival in high school, but when I watched The Holiday, I completely forgot about the teenager who tried to steal my sweetheart. Cameron shows off her acting chops in this film, and as her character grows, she helps the audience vicariously grow. Jude Law, while normally drawn to upsetting roles, plays a character who should have been named "Every Woman's Fantasy." Everything you ever wanted in a man, but deep down know you'll never get, is represented by Jude in this film. If you don't develop a massive crush on him, you must have very bad taste. Plus, he's very believable when he speaks his unbelievable lines, which is a testament to his acting. Knox assembles a memorable cast and whips up inventive switched-lives scenarios filled with a host of mishaps that double the fun. Delightfully romantic plot twists further sweeten this lighthearted, feel-good story—with a message—that is sure to make rom-com readers hunger for whatever Knox decides to dish up next.— Shelf Awareness a b c Kirschling, Gregory (December 5, 2007). Right off the bat, I want to say, if you're a fan of the seasonal Netflix and or Hallmark channel holiday movies? You'll probably love this. Enjoy those Vanessa Hudgens twin/look-alike/whatever swap concept films? This is for you. Added bonus if you also love The Great British Bake Off. And yet another bonus is this also manages to sprinkle in a small-town setting and vibe. THE HOLIDAY SWAP is doing pretty much everything, and anything, it possibly can. Sadly, though, this did not make my Grinchy heart grows any sizes bigger. The Holiday Swap is a women’s fiction novel set during Christmas.
