Our fragrance oils are 100% concentrated. Compatible with our waxes up to 10%. Compatible with our reed diffuser base between 10% to 25% depending on the IFRA. (please note for diffusers the fragrance oil and diffuser base SDS will need to be combined for your CLP label). Our fragrance oils are highly concentrated. They are perfect for candles, wax melts, soaps, potpourri, reed diffusers and more. Most handmade items like candles, wax melts, and reed diffusers often utilise essential or fragrance oils for their aromatic properties. As these are deemed hazardous, a CLP label is mandatory for non-cosmetic products containing them. This fragrance contains natural elements (essential oils, extracts, resins, isolates) but is not fully natural. Our fragrance oils have been designed to be as simple, clean and natural as possible whilst delivering the best scent throw and the best range of scent notes. Compounds that aren’t sourced direct from nature are either chemically identical to naturally found compounds, artificially created, or modified slightly, usually to give a slightly stronger scent. Occasionally fragrances not found in nature are used to give the distinctive scent that is required for some more artificial type fragrances. This is the same as all fragrance oils on the market today. This fragrance oil is currently being reformulated; we will update you when it is ready to be used in diffusers again.
Good choices for carrier oils include castor oil, wheatgerm oil, sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil and olive oil. Made from natural oils, such as those from the rapeseed plant and the soya bean, these waxes are a sustainable alternative to more popular paraffin waxes as they are 100% natural in origin. Soy wax is a particularly popular natural wax as its’ scent throw is far stronger than rapeseed waxes and is far less likely to trigger allergies than other forms of wax. Mineral waxes, of which paraffin is the most widely used, are made from petroleum and benefit from a very clean, odourless burn when in its purest state. White in colour and very easy… I have always loved the smell of lavender and a must in my garden. But since my interest in Aromatherapy and my understanding of oils, my favourite has been the Lavender oil - I use it instead of perfume - a small dot on either side of my temple; in my bath; and also mixed with other oils for cosmetic purposes. How much to add is slightly complex and we have developed a guide to give you more details here. Generally though starting with between 5-8% is a good idea and up to 10% for less strong fragrances should give you more than enough scent throw. It is always best to experiment with each scent and wax combination and start low and work up. As long as you follow the guide and observe the flash point you will get beautifully scented candles with a bit of practise. Generally speaking you should never put in more than 12% fragrance as the candle will literally begin to sweat or leach the fragrance.
