About this deal

A film adaptation of the book was released in October 2014. It was directed by Christian Ditter, and stars Lily Collins as Rosie Dunne and Sam Claflin as Alex Stewart.

From the bestselling author of PS, I Love You comes a delightfully enchanting novel about what happens when two people who are meant to be together just can't seem to get it right.

Rosie and Alex are the most complex and irritatingly loveable characters I've ever read. Alex and his constant inability to tell anyone how he feels and to play everything off, as well as being unreliable. Greg finds the letter and hides it from Rosie. When Rosie goes to work, she finds out that Greg has booked a bridal suite and assumes it is for their anniversary celebrations. However, she discovers Greg's meandering ways and that he has been cheating on her. She punches him and Greg is out of her and Katie's life. There were hundreds of them spread across the floor, each telling its own tale of triumph or sadness, each letter representing a phase in her life. She had kept them all.”

Though you might enjoy the development and drama of the main characters, their friends and family, it might take you a while you get through this book as there is only so much repetitive/depressing events you can take in a space of time. I found myself repeatedly putting the book down and doing something else just to take a break from the same cycle of events. Please think about it. Don't waste your time on Greg. This is our opportunity. Let's stop being afraid and take the chance. I promise I'll make you happy. I'll get straight to the point because if I don't say what I have to say now, I fear it will never be said. And I need to say it.

The side characters were so cute and I loved them all. I loved Ruby and her siblings and his siblings and Katie and Josh as well. Alex Stewart: The other main character of the book, originally from Dublin where he grew up with Rosie, his family moves to Boston where Alex eventually becomes a surgeon. Alex gets married there, but later discovers that he has feelings for Rosie. Love, Rosie follows childhood best friends Rosie (Lily Collins) and Alex (Sam Claflin) as they dance around their feelings for each other for more than a decade. Photograph: Jonathan Hession/Publicity image from film company Katie Dunne: Rosie's daughter, Katie has a best friend in the book called Toby and their relationship mirrors the relationship that Alex and Rosie had as children. As she gets older her relationship with Toby changes and it teaches Rosie about her real feelings for Alex. Alex's father wants him to go to Harvard to study Medicine and he convinces Rosie to take the hotel management course at Boston University. Rosie gets a call from Boston University and runs to tell Alex. Alex and Bethany were making love and her loud moaning makes Rosie nauseous and she ends up puking. Rosie goes to a local chemist to find out and discovers that she is pregnant despite taking the pill. What I really loved about this book was the kids. Katie, Toby and Josh. Their letters/postcards/whatever were so funny and sweet, all their grammatical errors made me laugh my lungs out!
