About this deal

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, if you want to use its full name, has made headlines today with the unveiling of its debut trailer and release details. Naturally some questions for big GTA fans and indeed Switch collectors have revolved around the file size and what we can expect from the Switch physical version.

Well, as of right now, the trilogy has reached version 1.07 through a series of patches and updates, and sitting down to spend some time with all three the results so far are fairly reasonable.

It wouldn't be that easy. If the collection sells well on Switch, they'd probably port the PSP Stories games, or Chinatown Wars. They're definitely in a playable state now and I can recommend to anyone interested. Albeit with the understanding they should have been even better. If they would have remastered them like they did GTA 3, SA and VC then its better they scrapped it... I hope one day companies will make good remasters that do respecting the originals. People have been asking what games the Switch 2 could launch with, as it clearly can’t be a new mainline Zelda. A new 3D Mario or Donkey Kong does seem the obvious guess, or I quite like the suggestion that it could be Mario Kart 9. But the most you’re likely to get is one big name Nintendo exclusive and then maybe one or two minor ones, like 1-2-Switch. There’s next to no chance for the Switch 2 being revealed this year and only a small one for GTA 6, but since a lot of people have been having fun imagining what the Switch 2’s launch line-up might be I wanted to take it a step further: what if GTA 6 was part of it?

Their half-assed attempt at this and it's poor reception buried the chance of getting RDR Remastered on Switch, which I was far more excited for. This just makes me sad now. I mean if they would be handled as poorly as that Trilogy I think this was probably the right call so that their usual quality isn't dragged through the mud any further. And that's really the long and short of it. Yes, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is better than it was. Of course it is. It launched in an absolute shambles.Sounds like I’ll need to continue watching it and see how it (continues to) shapes up. I don’t want any compromises for that price tag especially on a PS2 port. 😩 Cult of the Lamb is another game for which I would love a second look. I heard it’s better compared to its launch version. Buizel One of the main reasons why people thought GTA4 was overrated can be summed up in four words: "Cousin, let's go bowling". This will be an instant buy for me. I've been thinking about getting GTA V as my first game in the franchise, but this...this looks just as good as V. So I'll probably get this instead.
