About this deal
The wisdom in this book has been taught before (nothing new under the sun) but put across in a beautiful and simple way. When he meets two mysterious lighthouse keepers, they give him something magical to help him achieve his goals.
Most parents I suspect want to help their teenagers and young adults by giving them some worldly advice.I look forward to the bigger changes coming such as the growth of the Audiobook market, self-driving cars etc. However, this is a different angle from Grahame’s normal day to day but still relevant as many chapters of the book were written as the result of his business experiences. I actually really liked it but self help books in general are just not my bag so I found it cringe and boring is aspects.
Some parts were nice but it just felt preachy having a character constantly talking about how you should or shouldn’t be - even if it is with good intentions. Through his writing, Grahame aspires to leave a lasting impression on his readers, hoping that even a single nugget of wisdom can inspire them or enhance their lives in some positive way. My story is centred around a dying man who accidentally pulls his grandson, Jack DeLacey, into his death with him.
I wanted a self discovery book, I never heard of this book but thought I would give it a try and WOW!
