About this deal

It is not clear if the connector from Snapnator will be able to accept an actual MagSafe cable, but even if it does not it might still be an interesting option.

Right after I bought my new MacBook Air M1 I almost pulled it off a table by tripping over the power cable. Which means it will want 20v, and the charger will initially provide 5v, switching to 20v after PD negotiation. A little blue LED illuminated to show the connection had been made correctly, and the MacBook Air made its happy little bong noise to indicate it was slurping down power. In the section, "What you need" I have posted the name of the cable CoreParts Magsafe1 for USB‑C Adapter Cable Length - 1. I've bought 2 different 3rd party ones so far and the USB-C plugs don't fit into the laptop's ports as well as the Apple adapters do.

Not to be contrarian, but you would come out better if you sold your existing MagSafe adapters and bought USB-C PD adapters. For charging a laptop, I would stick with chargers from the manufacturer (meaning Apple, in this case). My favorite feature is you can get different tips, so one cable can be used with lightning (iPhone, iPad), USB-C (new portables), and Micro USB (Android stuff).

The data-focused magnetic nubbins are also quite a bit larger since they need more pins, so they may block two ports. Fulfill the purpose of using the magsafe charging cable to connect the Notebooks that have USB C charging port and other USB C devices. Finally, some have noted that only one side of the L-shaped adapter has an LED, rendering it harder to determine if it’s connected when the LED is facing down. I have noted that connecting all components along the "chain of cables" before plugging into the wall can positively influence the outcome.
