In this release, Bismarck is depicted in her final incarnation with her fore and aft deck swastikas painted over, and the superstructure disruptive camouflage obliterated. This unique book looks at the nuts and bolts of this great warship, from its massive cannons to its inner most passageways, and shines a light on the brief history of the Bismarck that symbolised the decline of the battleship as the most important warships afloat. Bismarck was the first of two Bismarck-class battleships that were constructed for use in the Navy of Nazi Germany: the Kriegsmarine. There's a Bismarck name decal for the raised nameplate, it's even portrayed in iconic German "Fraktur" font!But that's as much as I can say at this time because I haven`t got around to building it as yet so watch this space. This model debuted as a brand-new kit in 1977, repackaged as sister ship Tirpitz shortly thereafter, and it has not been released since.

British battleships King George V and Rodney were able to close on the Bismarck along with a fleet of cruisers and destroyers. On May 27, 1941, Bismarck was heavily damaged after a final confrontation with British warships, including the battleships HMS King George V and HMS Rodney. Bismarck uses the same size box as the other large Amati releases, such as HMS Vanguard, HMS Revenge, Fifie, and the recent Orient Express Sleeping Car kit.
