I just made a plain old cheese and magno chutney toastie today (we've run out of branston pickle lol) but it really was nice and best of all there's no melted cheese to clean off the diablo, unlike with an electric breville type one. I clipped the handle of the Diablo, trimmed off the edges of the wrap and heated it on the hob for a few minutes, turning it over frequently. You can used pre-prepared, canned pie filling or create a great home-made taste with stewed apples, brown sugar, sultanas and cinnamon.

You’re not even confined to using it on the hob, as it’d be great for camping or used on a woodburner (which I’m going to be doing). Quote: Originally posted by Anniemacxx on 17/9/2011I remember my Mum having a device similar to this way back when in the 60's. The only down sides are that a lot of the bread is wasted, you can only make one sandwich at a time and that the handle can get very hot, so handle with care. On boxing day the 2 men in my life wanted to try these out, one broke immediately, much to my husbands utter disgust ( it got slung out into the bin faster than you can say 'cheese toastie') the second is still working, and it seems to be doing quite well. Pile ingredients high between two pieces of bread and cook on a stove top (gas, electric, ceramic, Agas etc.

This makes it easy to hide away but may give the impression it will produce an unsatisfying toastie but thankfully that is not the case. Turning off the personalized advertising setting won’t stop you from seeing Etsy ads, but it may make the ads you see less relevant or more repetitive. The only criticism is that the wire loop at the end of the double handle does not spring on, so as long as you grip by squeezing both handles - which is how you hold it anyway - it's fine. Other than wasting the crusts and some bread (we feed it to the birds) there isn’t much not to like about this. Our community has been around for many years and pride ourselves on offering unbiased, critical discussion among people of all different backgrounds.
