Overall it's a great piece of hardware that can be modified to do just what you want with some tweaking using third party software and inbuilt user modes. Keep the creative momentum going with the new Custom Mode keystroke widget and assign DAW shortcuts to your launchpad for a faster workflow and more intuitive creation. It's a clever use of the available pads, but it means that you lose access to Scene launching when Mute, Solo or Stop are active, which you don't on the Mini or Pro. Launchpad X and Launchpad Mini [MK3] devices no longer need to be rotated to properly display the Live Loops grid, as was required in v10. Wherever you happen to be in the world, you can rely on a three-year warranty if any Novation hardware needs repairing or replacing due to a manufacturing fault.
If you opt for the browser mode you can also launch it from the mass storage device folder that appears on your computer desktop when you plug up the Launchpad – a nice touch.
