About this deal
I’m not sure if this was necessarily explained, it could be that I accidentally spammed through the helping guide, but this is where things get tricky. Utilize Lute’s unique auras to expose or weaken these creatures and adapt to a flow of battle that never feels the same. Combat is the shining point, but it’s plagued with a terrible camera, some buggy performance, and a steep learning curve. The more successful attacks, combos, and counters you do, the closer Briar and Lute become until their portraits are combined. Weapons are unlocked and upgraded throughout the game and can even be switched on the fly to unleash stylish and highly devastating combo attacks.
Once I realized this I chose the Mastery class because of its extremely high damage, and reset my perks so I was only choosing skills that belonged to that class. It’ll be familiar to anybody that’s played a game in this genre before, with a simple combo system and a wide array of sub-weapons. Whenever a fresh looking area is introduced, a cutscene quickly puts our protagonists to the other side of it and back into the city. Utilise Lute’s unique auras to expose or weaken these creatures and adapt to a flow of battle that never feels the same.
Your bigLargely Soulstice was glitch-free, and kept good frames and textures despite lots of enemies and action on screen. The gameplay is fun but it lacks the "Oomph" feel when you damage the enemy, like the one you feel from Devil May Cry or Bayonetta. The ‘Soul’ in Soulstice led me and possibly others to think this would be a high difficulty, slow combat, on a knife edge of being killed, souls-like experience.
