I've found the performance of JVAP to be average and not as weak as others have reported, however everyone's skin chemistry is different. Bright citrusses (the mandarine is awesome) with some aromatic touches resting on a woodsy musky slightly soapy base. These things said, here’s where JVAP shines for me; I love white florals - but only if there’s something in the scent that leans it enough in a masculine direction to be wearable for a guy.

Very clean and fresh, starting with lot of orange, then, it gets smoother, fresh and floral with a nice non-powdery iris and some woods. Bad: The opening immediately took me to childhood memories of using a sharp lemony soap bar - not a great thing. Moderate-to-close sillage and projection, and in terms of longevity I got about 3 solid hours in a full wearing when testing it (on skin). Its certainly has its own character and quite a refined smell, but I do pine for the top notes to last longer, they really are divine.

I thought by the descriptions and cult following I may really enjoy this, and might even find it to be unisex so we could share a fragrance. Edit: I wore this fragrance all day today in less heat (36-38 degs Celsius) and it’s become a skin scent after 6 hours with 7 sprays, which is a much better than previously (very high heat: 2 hours before becoming a skin scent). Vibrant citruses and lush green notes mingle with rich spices and smooth woods in this highly versatile and likeable fresh masculine scent.Nio is a little harder too pull off as it is a very sobering scent where this one has some youthful exuberance.

Opens up with fresh, herbal citrus (I get more lemon and bergamot than orange and mandarin), quick dry-down after 20 mins becomes more pettigrain, small amount of ginger in the back. Tle citrus/clementine Vibe stays for another 3 hours tops, then it becomes fresh, musky, woodsy masculine skin scent. It's likely they're in there somewhere, but I can't find myself caring enough to push past the core notes of a fragrance that resonates with me stronger than any other I've found. John Varvatos has some seriously underrated, beautiful fragrances in their lineup (John Varvatos, Vintage, Artisan, Artisan Pure).My 2oz bottle I got last year is almost out since I spray this heavily to get good longevity and projection but have a 4oz bottle on the way. For context, I love and own Varvatos, Vintage, Artisan Black, Artisan Acqua, Dark Rebel, and Dark Rebel Rider.
