For most head shapes and sizes, as long as you don’t need both sides to be on the lowest screws (which maximizes size for the biggest heads), the headband will be suspension style. They also support codecs like LC3, LC3+, and LDAC, which is great if you like to listen to high-quality audio. However, the Astro are more comfortable, their boom mic offers a better overall performance, and have a more immersive passive soundstage. Play in comfort, all day, all night with deluxe memory foam earpads and replaceable suspension strap. For the most part, the controls of the Audeze Maxwell are physical if the app doesn’t entirely handle them, and that’s not bad.

This wireless standard also supports LC3 and LC3+ codecs, both of which offer more efficient audio transmission with higher audio quality. But there are oddities, such as the EQ settings that offer six different presets, and another four presumably editable ones.The headband's underside is thinly padded, but this section won’t directly touch your head thanks to the suspension underneath it. The AI noise suppression feature has two levels (high, low), and did a great job of filtering out consistent background noise, such as my 37 PC case fans, without thinning out or otherwise distorting my voice.

The detachable boom mic is quite flexible, but if you need to adjust it, it's best to do so from its base as the mic can easily fall down. Update 05/03/2023: We've concluded our investigation into our Audeze Maxwell measurements and have updated our results.For me, it's an emergency backup if you just want to quickly chat without having to plug in the boom mic, but makes the Maxwell supremely versatile. The Maxwell’s default sound profile is tuned for gaming — which makes sense, as it’s a gaming headset — with punchy lows, slightly pulled-back mids, and bright, slightly elevated highs.
