About this deal

Although the scones tend to be a bit too hard/ dry for my liking (personal preference as I have friends who love them that way), I can wholly recommend their salads!

It was a treat to stay here especially as we were in the heart of Canterbury and had the Cathedral on our doorstep. The Cathedral Gate Hotel is a charming hotel dating back to 1438 and located in the heart of Canterbury. We loved it though as the hotel was quirky,the staff were ever so friendly and the breakfast was lovely especially having the option of eating in the room (both of us take a long time to get going in the morning! The chapel is what remains of a large stone friary built between 1267 and 1325, although the site was vested to the city as the Friars could not own property . She holds an MA in Modern Poetry with the University of Kent at Canterbury, (2001-2003), incorporating the philosophical manifestos of major poets and the work of the controversial founding father of deconstruction in philosophy, Jacques Derrida.Framed by the Westgate Towers, the West End is the first taste of Canterbury for many travellers from Canterbury West. Cllr Charlotte Cornell, Cabinet Member for Waste and Recycling, commented: “Well done to everyone involved in getting our city’s streets looking spick and span, from those who helped secure the funding to the crews on the ground doing the hard graft.

The Parrot is a glorious old tavern in Canterbury that features traditional pub food alongside top-shelf real ales. I went with the family and there was a lot to enjoy, with activities for smaller children to partake in too. The building is very old so there are a lot of steps and uneven floors - not suitable for those with mobility problems but we found it charming. I've been visiting Canterbury for many years, it was only recently I took my children for an exploration trip of the city.This will inform the development of resources that raise awareness of such crimes, increase the level of support for victims/survivors and work towards prevention and early intervention. There is no parking at the hotel but there is a car park (Queningate) a five minute walk down Burgate. Really clear water and view from the foot bridge south of the park however the main park itself is not as amazing.

It is a great place to learn about Freemasonry, and the helpful volunteers are always happy to answer any questions. I must say even with what I'd consider to be is a pretty good internal compass I still resorted to using Google maps! Before leaving Stour Street, take in the Canterbury Heritage Museum, housed in the medieval Poor Priests Hospital. My partner and I visited Canterbury spontaneously in October without realising it was not tourist season.
