It starts out in a very "classic" way, and on my skin quickly mellows down to a clean but somewhat dusty floral. Once they kick in they start to smell like the floral arrangement in the heart of L'air du Temps as well as Arpege.the real luxury perfume -- a curious scenario in which the competition ends up actually helping your sales. I think the current bottle design actually came out much later, but I can certainly imagine this sitting on the dressing tables of elegant ladies of that era, next to the powder puffs and cold creams. In fact, after a few hours I think it smells very similar to Jovan Musk for women (original orange topped amber liquid joy!
