About this deal

There are no running costs for pausing Internet on a certain device or showing detailed client information, so why does TP-Link charge a monthly fee for those features? This kit includes two Deco X68 routers that can also be configured to work as satellites and access points, employing Deco Mesh technology to create a single Wi-Fi network that helps to eliminate dead spots from large homes. The expanded speed capabilities that come with Wi-Fi 6 can improve the mesh performance even when the devices you're using only support Wi-Fi 5 or older.

So I am hoping that by upgrading to the XE75, the X80 or the X68, as per the title, I will be more able to utilise the bandwidth of my internet plan. I use NextDNS to monitor internet traffic on my home network, which shows the Deco X68 is sending network requests to domains owned by Avira almost every minute — NextDNS recorded over 42,000 queries in just 24 hours.I like the idea of the X80 because seemingly, you get the same speeds as the XE75, however it's only dual band, but then again, maybe TP-Link does a good job of allocating bandwidth etc, and given we don't often have more than 20 clients on the network, we could get away with "just" a dual band setup, such as the X80? I liked the fact that the Deco X68's are WiFi 6 / Tri-Band routers that use separate 5Ghz backhaul channels to link the 2 Deco units that avoids impacting any of your other devices using the 5Ghz band, thereby improving overall throughput (it works well in my setup).

This mesh system is overkill for my space, but even so, it delivered very fast and consistent speeds all over. I have no idea why the Deco system needed to check its own IP information over 20,000 times, but unlike with the Avira pings, data to ifconfig stopped after a few days. If you should receive a product that has been damaged while in transit please reach out to us here within 2 Days and we will certainly be able to address your concerns.

The Deco X60, for example, would be a good choice for expansion with its fast AX3000 dual-band speeds.

Like I mentioned with the Deco X20, the X68 also has a more pleasing, modern look than other dedicated gaming routers, with fins and antennas pointing out everywhere. It also works with 4×4 MU-MIMO, so all the available antennas on your devices can be used for extra bandwidth. Overall, the TP-Link Deco X68 is a great mesh system, and if you're just looking for great Wi-Fi coverage with consistent and high speeds, it should be on your shortlist.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. No matter how many devices are running at the same time everyone can enjoy their favorite streams or games with no drops or buffering. Avira has a partnership with TP-Link to provide cloud security for routers, but there's no explanation in the app that this is happening, nor is there an option to turn off the data transmissions.
