About this deal

For the second night I used this function and the next morning they both stayed in bed until the yellow sun appeared. Also the Gro-clock has a digital clock display so that you can teach older children how to tell the time which is something Mia uses now that she’s a bit older. As a lot of parents do I have been dreading the lighter mornings as it means that the kiddies will be getting up even earlier than before so I started to look for a solution. Getting your child to fall asleep and stay asleep is tricky and sleep problems like getting out of bed are unfortunately common. As a result, I was never quite sure how much attention she actually paid to the display – at least one occasion, she’d somehow set a 5am sunshine but stayed happily in bed regardless after she woke up.

The first night we used them I was eager to see how well it worked but unfortunately, the kiddies had been pressing the buttons while they were in bed and had reset the getting up time! When setting up the Gro-clock, the instructions say to try not to let your child see you setting the clock up and I wish I had of read that first as Mia watched me playing with the clock and she decided she would quite like to ‘set’ the clock herself for the next week!

With two time setting options, you can choose to set different weekday, weekend or naptime wake-up times. A cheaper alternative would be a digital clock and a smart bulb I think but reading the time alone would be confusing as we have two wake up times 6. With adjustable brightness settings the screen brightness can be turned down or turned off completely. The Gro Clock has been more encouraging than any of the other clocks I have tried in the bid to get Arron to stay in bed longer – we’re not really there yet, but I’m going to continue using it to see how it goes. Our son is 22 months old and our work schedule has him getting up early during the week which is carrying over onto the weekends too. There are also other colour based clocks, and some of the fancier nightlights such as Hatch also combine this feature now too, showing a different colour in the morning. I have some friends who swear by it although their kids are slightly older so maybe it’ll come into its own yet… I like your method though. Let’s take a look at the most common mistakes when using a toddler clock and how to use them effectively!
