I love the way she lets you get swept up in the story and she has an unusual but satisfying pacing style where there are bursts of action followed by a lot of "hang out" time with our characters.Detective Kit McKittrick works homicide in the hope that one day she will find out what happened to her foster sister, Wren. I used to read Karen Rose a lot because I liked her intricate and complicate plot, mystery, action, well-developed characters.

I love the dark plot though, especially the mystery surrounding the murder during Hurricane Katrina that Rocky was investigating and ultimately got him killed. Karen Rose brings suspense, danger, action, intense moments, and romance to her first book in the New Orleans romantic suspense series, Quarter to Midnight.I enjoyed the change in setting to New Orleans and the situation of the dirty members of the justice system from cops on up that shifted the investigation team to the private sector. She has been nominated for the prestigious RITA award multiple times, and in 2011 she received the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Romantic Suspense. What I really love to do is create a villain who has a really beautiful face, that no one is going to suspect. I recommend this to those that like romantic suspense novels with relatable and likeable main characters.
