About this deal

At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills. But I don't what to be a person who died, I would liked to of lives after the best titanic boat has sank. I also got all wrapped up in Hotel Manager Maynard Charles' story which was, at times, heartbreaking. Perfectly written, easy to follow and very addictive, I’m more than happy to recommend Anton and his fashionably historical romance sagas set during the 1930’s. He is well paired with Helene Marchmont, renowned for her beauty and skill, but who hides a secret with huge implications.

I have not read the first book in the series, and perhaps if I had this would have been more enjoyable, as often with a series there is a lot of enjoyment in seeing the characters develop.Set in the build up to war, I think the microcosm of the Buckingham hotel is a little too pronounced and more could have been done to establish a sense of the historical setting of this novel. From the upper echelons of society to the downstairs chambermaids, their lives and the world of dance comes alive on every page and you will get caught up in all of the drama, secrets, betrayals, and emotions that echo through the corridors of this prestigious hotel. I doubt the novel would work as well as it does if read as a stand-alone, with much of the enjoyment coming from seeing how far the characters who came to life in the first novel fare in the second. An utterly enchanting read sprinkled with charm, romance and heart, Moonlight Over Mayfair delights from beginning to end and sweeps readers back in time and into a world of glamour and elegance which they will find themselves reluctant to leave at the end of the novel.

The ballroom is very centre stage in the story and the dancers that put on a show that says everything is normal here, while outside the undercurrents of unrest in Europe is never far away. Helene also has her chance of Romance, wooed by a guest, but juggling her clandestine life proves tricky. But don't let this put you off as there stories weave together perfectly, and I soon got to grips with everyone. Santa MontefiorePrepare to be swept off your feet by the romantic and irresistible new novel from Sunday Times bestselling author and Strictly Come Dancing star Anton Du BekeLondon, 1937. Regardless of whether one is upstairs or downstairs or whether one dons a ballgown or a pinny, whoever walks through the doors of the Buckingham Hotel has got plenty to think and worry about.

We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child. The sequel to his best-selling One Enchanted Evening, its setting is the Buckingham, a luxurious hotel where the elite rub shoulders with more ordinary folk on the dance floors of the impressive Grand Ballroom. This is a mix of romance, dance and political intrigue, with strong contrasts between the upper and lower classes of society. I’ll be booking my suite again for next year at Buckingham Hotel and I can’t wait to catch up with Raymond De Guise, Nancy and all the other endearing and captivating characters. The difference in social classes within the Buckingham Hotel and political references all made for an Authentic and Intriguing read.Anton uses such vivid and realistic descriptions that I really did feel as though I was part of the story myself- although I would draw the line at dancing because that just wouldn’t be pretty.
