About this deal

Her neighboring BFF who consistently backs the OW and whose form of banter with the h is abusive, if you ask me. To be honest, there were times I felt like shouting at Rosie for the way her children ran rings around her.

Her love of her family shone through repeatedly, and it was clear as day to me that this was a woman entirely happy with her lot in life. It's a shame there wasn't more exploration around feelings and mental health, and what could have been an opportunity for some body positivity was swept away, instead a flat tanned stomach seemed to be the goal to keep a man. Prowse wrote these passages beautifully; the emotions are raw, conflicted, and always feel very true-to-life. I did hope that Rosie would find fulfillment and come out stronger than the person who wept to see Phil go but the very ending in my mind just happened far too quickly and conveniently and it was all wrapped up a bit too neatly. No matter what you are going through there’s always something to smile about somewhere or unexpectedly.I found the beginning a little slow and opening so many questions, I was sure to be disappointed when surely many of them wouldn't be answered. Browse effectively and sensitively showcased family life at its most joyful, its most mundane, and at its most fragile.

Rosie is heartbroken for her and her daughters, the girls are her life and she is determined to keep them close and happy despite the upheaval that surrounds them. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. This experience helped inspire her Sunday Times Penguin bestsellers 'My Husband's Wife', 'Blood Sisters', 'The Dead Ex', 'I Looked Away', 'I Made A Mistake', 'To Tell The Truth', 'We All Have Our Secrets' and 'Coming To Find You'. Her reaction to the breakup of her marriage was heartbreaking and realistic even when I thought she should develop a spine. She goes to sit on her favourite bench on the north Devon cliffs, gazes out at the sky, and thanks her lucky stars for the life she has. Amanda has always obsessively crafted short stories and scribbled notes for potential books, but it wasn’t until she was forty that she began writing full time.

You always knew when Naomi popped up in a chapter that there was going to be some kind of drama or funny questions. There is a lot of depth in this book, dealing with growing up without a mother, depression, adultery and what really is best for your children. Amanda has an incredible talent for not only writing gripping and emotional stories, but bringing the characters to life and making you feel their every emotion. She thoroughly explores the hearts and souls of her characters and makes sure that the reader will get to know them through and through.I was quickly immersed in the world of Rosie and her family because of Ms Prowse’s seamless narrative style. From the first moment I met Rosie and her daughters, Naomi and Leona, who caused me to laugh out loud repeatedly throughout my reading of this novel, I knew I'd found a family unit I'd grow to love. Although I didn't enjoy reading about the imaginary exchanges between Rosie and her mother (too cringe-worthy for me, unfortunately), I enjoyed the whole backstory to Rosie's childhood, and about her parents. S. debut have much in the way of nuance; only a general sheen of unpleasantness that settles over every interaction, be it personal or professional . I felt this added a much-needed depth to Rosie's emotional and psychological position as a mother, and explained her reaction to a lot of the things that happened to her in the story.
