About this deal

I was prescribed topical steroids' which help in the moment but not sure how to make this go away for good. Because I feel like my experience is so far removed from all the other reviews I’ve read - this is one of the most difficult sunscreens I’ve used! I added this to my regular skincare routine after my serum step (I don't use a moisturiser as I live in a humid climate and I have oily skin) . And here's what I can tell you: there have been no sunburn sightings since I started slathering 100+ on my face and body!

I’ve tried this on my face and it doesn’t add any more grease to my face (which tends to get oily through the day lah). There has been some healthy controversy surrounding them due to a few studies finding paraben presence in breast tumours and breast tissue. As a result, those who find them problematic are avoiding them and increasingly, cosmetic companies are avoiding them as well. However one type of alcohols, simple alcohols can be quite drying to the skin because it evaporates very quickly.Occasionally I’ll apply too much at a time and it’ll all clump up into one gross sunscreen snowball, but it tends to do that even when I’m using an excess of caution. This cream did a good job of protecting my skin this past summer, in (unusually) sunny London as well as while holidaying in a Spanish beach. On paper it has all the right things going for it: not shiny, not heavy, dries down fast, yadda yadda.

What I look for in a sunscreen: Lightweight, doesn’t pill over moisturizer, with a satin or matte finish (or at least a sunscreen that holds up to mattifying powder and blotting sheets. It’s also got this neat spraypaint vibe with one of those lil metal balls making a hell of a racket in there. If too much is applied, any facial movement or rubbing will cause the sunscreen to sort of clump up, lift up, and flake off. I can't be waiting for my sunscreen to sink in while Auckland Motorway is collecting traffic by the minute. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

If I give it 20+ minutes to dry down, the Very Shiny look tones down just a bit, but not enough to justify waiting that long.

After about a week of using this product, I realized that it was THIS Neutrogena sunscreen product that was burning my skin, NOT the sun. The only good thing I can say about this sunscreen is that my makeup didn’t shift, pill, or rub off when I wore makeup over it.There is talk about how, past SPF 45, the protection-level number on sunscreen bottles amounts to marketing bullshit (see WebMD ** ***). For Prevention of Sunburn "I used Neutrogena UltraSheer 70 SPF on Saturday and had a rash starting Sunday morning.
