About this deal

The linguistic creativity was definitely my favorite part of the book, followed by figuring out the obscure genesis of many of the words and phrases. He has written five collections of shorter fiction and three novellas: The Quantity Theory of Insanity; Grey Area; License to Hug; The Sweet Smell of Psychosis; Design Faults in the Volvo 760 Turbo; Tough, Tough Toys for Tough, Tough Boys; Dr. One half of the chapters are devoted to Dave Rudman, a London cabbie who has very little ambition and few hierarchical needs until he accidentally fathers a son after a one-night stand. The first thing to say about any Will Self book is that, love him or hate him, you can’t help but be impressed by the quality of his writing.

The plot is therefore accessible with each chapter, provided the reader is willing to follow the flights of spontaneous imagination Self builds his world upon brick-by-brick. For example, the "Hamsters", the inhabitants of the island of Ham (actually the higher, unflooded part of Hampstead Heath), believe that certain verses out of the book are sacred "hymns", where in fact they are just excerpts from The Knowledge. Dave challenges our assumptions about the boundaries between human and machine intelligence, while captivating readers with a tightly plotted narrative full of unexpected twists.

Some might complain about the gumption Will Self has to take on the dialect and least privileged area of the working classes, when he himself is a bourgeois suburbanite through and through. This very odd book it is only Will Self I have been able to get into which because this is dark creepy science fiction Apocalyptic style book about religion and Taxi drivers . Walker said: “As soon as I read the opening pages of The Night We Lost Him I knew Laura was an author we just had to have on the Century list. He made a series of visits to China to learn from him and had the honour of being his final apprentice.

Self loves words the way other people love their children, and he can take the most mundane action and turn it into epic poetry. However, that melt spanned around thirteen millennia (between 19,000 years ago and 6000 years ago) with an average rate of sea-level rise of one metre per century. His life unravels around him as a tale of urban dysfunction, but his Knowledge of London helps somehow.About halfway through I wondered if the future chapters were a psychotic episode that a character was having in the past, instead of an actual tale of a far future society.
