About this deal

I’d quite like to try filling the tuff tray with oobleck next time so Sophie can try jumping and standing on it. For the surrounding areas, green-dyed rice and fern leaves were used as pastureland, large gems and blue chalk for water, sand for the beach and sand dunes, clay, asparagus and cress for trees and bushes and stones to represent, well, stone. Etsy assumes no responsibility for the accuracy, labelling, or content of sellers' listings and products. The reality is that the toddler didn’t care if it was a tiger or a cow, he just wanted animals to herd and if anything, dinosaurs made it more fun!

The mud doesn’t taste that great though so I have found they don’t eat it but just have a small lick! We grabbed a white blanket to place over the tuff tray, added our favourite panda book then found all the soft toy pandas in the house. To enable personalised advertising (like interest-based ads), we may share your data with our marketing and advertising partners using cookies and other technologies.I created a few areas to the tuff spot – the first area was the muddy area for the vegetables – I made this up by colouring some rice brown to look like mud and leaving in a baking try to bury the vegetable pictures into it for them to ‘farm’ later on. Use the ideas in this resource to create a magical fairy garden busy tray for your baby or toddler to explore. I used paper mache along with newspaper and cardboard to create the Volcano and then once it was dry I painted it.

Sand was used for the beach, stones for a riverbank, green-dyed rice, pumpkin seeds and grass as pastureland. I set up our Playmobil-123 farm set in the tuff tray and then used various crushed cereals (Weetabix, choco hoops, baby porridge) and lentils to create farm areas. They took great delight in getting the farm animals as muddy as possible and then washing them clean before starting again! We played with it for hours and because the ingredients are dry I have been able to keep them, those that were not eaten(!

Make some edible soil to fill the tray before adding your plants (fresh herbs), river (blue rice) and pathways (crispy rice cereal).

The use of the fire engine was a great way of teaching my daughter about how they help us and not just when there is a fire e. Both kids loved getting messy with all the cloud sand and aqua beads, mixing it all together and feeling all the sticky mess it created. This not only tells the story of a hungry Caterpillar but it also shows the life cycle of a Caterpillar and through my daughter having the props she could see more clearly that life cycle. I then added in their Playmobil farm barn , some toy tractors and other playmobil and happyland people and animals.
