Bottled in hand-blown bottles, Fortaleza is as close as you’re going to get to what Tequila tasted like 100 years ago. This seems to have more actual barrel than some Añejo releases with some slight bitterness from the re charred barrels. Guillermo Sauza launched Fortaleza in 2005 and has become one of the most famous tequilas around the world.

This award-winning tequila offers notes of vanilla, caramel, and a hint of spice, making it perfect for sipping or mixing in your favourite cocktail. Nutty, complex and elegant it presents itself on the tongue until it leaves with a complex, long finish. This is a well balances añejo that still respects agave flavour, but marries the aging wood taste pretty well, coming to a well executed balancing act.No additives (sugar,glycerine,colorant) On the Nose I get Agave then a slight bubblegum fallowed by grilled pineapple.

Using 150-year-old methods and traditional equipment, the agaves are slowly cooked in a brick oven over 2 days.
