About this deal

Excellent – The equipment should be close to being ‘Like New’ but there may be some small cosmetic blemishes that lower its grade. During the film era it was a fierce competition between Kodak and Fujifilm, but these days the situation is a bit different it seems… Leica M6 | MS-Optics 50mm 1.

Images in bright daylight or with flash are crisp and colorful, but this emulsion’s mucky green cast is no good for cloudy or shadowy conditions, unless mucky green is what you’re after. And if you think others will also enjoy or benefit from this film review, help them find it by sharing or pinning. PhotoBite is a team of photographers, filmmakers, photo-journalists and tech geeks with the intention to inform and inspire, providing a pathway through the creative process and ultimately furnishing image-makers with the information, knowledge and tools needed for their creative journey, be that 1 or 24 frames per second. In the shot with the bridge over the river Yulong, the greens of the trees and the water and the man’s red shirt back up the earlier claims made on those. A reliable general use film that gives you exactly what you expect, with whatever working camera you have, in almost all good light situations, and at low cost. With enhanced colour reproduction and great sharpness, this film beautifully highlights your subjects, and also boasts a smooth and classic fine grain, adding to the overall aesthetic of images. These MS Optics lenses – in the big picture of things – do quite well I think and are quite charming. This was one of the first consumer films I ever tried over the pandemic, and it has a very different feel to Kodak films. Please note: This is an updated emulsion that now replaces the old Fuji C200 Film, FujiFilm C200 film is now discontinued. This is not a contrasty film, and the colours seem muted, cool, giving a calm effect to ordinary scenes.

I hope that’s not the case as it would be a shame to lose the already sparse variety in pocket friendly colour film. It’s a great starting point when you first get into shooting film and should help you get to grips with some of the essentials. The only downside is that it is only 200 speed, so your options will get more limited in lower lighting conditions.

Of course, I wouldn’t leave it in direct sunlight or next to my oven either, but keeping it in a cool, dry cupboard for the relatively short time you have it should suffice.

Instead of degrading it for not being a special colour negative film like a Kodak Ektar 100 or a Portra 400, I like to recognise it for what it is.In my experience, C200 gives you the Fuji greens and reds in heaps, along with a lower grain and clearer image than Superia has given me. Fujicolor C200 is a 5500°k daylight balanced, consumer-grade ISO 200 colour negative film that’s available in 35mm format only. But, in my opinion, it’s a pretty good budget film for when you’re just out there preserving memories.
