It shares many similarities to others in this family of fragrances, but in my opinion it is done more professionally, with more sophistication. This is a somewhat unsophisticated but enjoyable Eastern gourmand that merges sweet and resinous notes against a lively backdrop of woods, fruits, spices, and florals. Projection - as is the case with all good oud fragrances - is of course insanely strong, while longevity is unbelievable at over 12 hours with only 1 spray!

It wears quite linear but with different facets moving in and out of focus (the florals and the frankincense, mainly), yet it does seem to get gradually more dry over time with the tobacco-leaf note stepping up front to merge with the honey. This phase of the fragrance fools me into thinking that it sits moderately on my skin (olfactory overload? Dupeon is not endorsed by, directly affiliated with, maintained, authorised, or sponsored by any trademark holder referenced or unreferenced.I avoid to spray it on coats or jackets because the stuff will stick to the garments for days ruining my chances of enjoying a real perfume.

Regarding the performance, the fragrance lasts very long on skin (8+ hours), but projects very softly. This has to be the cheapest junkiest bottle I've ever encountered and for almost 200 bucks, I feel insulted. Arabian Oud Kalemat Black (Seher/Sehr Al Kalemat) is very similar to the original Kalemat, but to my nose, it has a bit of a darker vibe, almost dirty like black tar. Inspired by the rich heritage and traditions of the Arabian world, this majestic scent captures the essence of opulence and elegance.

Perhaps the the opening combination of olibanum (incense) and basil that fosters a sharper, dirtier edge to the otherwise familiar (like the original) trio of vanilla, amber, and oud. It took my quite some time to review this fragrance on Fragrantica because I had to make some time to really try to encapsulate in words what this fragrance is all about in my most respectful honest opinion. However, despite the potency, the scent itself is light/airy/transparent enough that I can do up to 3 sprays.

A fantastic fragrance and much smoother than the original Kalemat, whose oud is more pronounced and bitter, and which has fruitiness that adds to the bitterness. However, even though that was my personal experience with the fragrance, it was a complete different story compared to what other people around me were experiencing while smelling this fragrance from me.
