There's no aftertouch on the keys but the pads are both velocity- and pressure-sensitive and will do single or polyphonic aftertouch. It's taken longer than expected, but everything that made the Mini MkIII a very cool little controller has been stretched out into the full-sized and infinitely more playable Launchkey MkIII.

Easy-to-read screen – 16x2 character screen lets you easily see the state of what you’re controlling or selecting. It's a credit limit that's attached to your PayPal account which you can use for your online purchases. Ableton’s own Push controller is still only available in clip launcher/pad form, so the Launchkey is as close as you’re likely to get to a definitive keyboard controller for Live.

Pads are colorful but they aren't going to flash while you play, even when they are close to your computer monitor.
