The world of therapy and professional help is still so inaccessible to so many people and this book is a crucial and life changing one that should be placed in everyone’s mental health toolkit! Dr Soph has a bachelor's degree in psychology, a masters in neuroscience and a doctorate in clinical psychology, and is one of the few clinical psychologists in the world right now taking psychology out of the therapy room. Bardzo podoba mi sie oryginalny tytul "Manual for being a human" - wydaje mi sie, ze zdecydowanie bardziej pasuje do jej tresci niz "Czulosc. Na podstawie rozmów ze swoimi pacjentami stworzyła coś na kształt odpowiedzi na najczęściej zadawane pytania. When I read that 'school shows us that the rest of our lives will be measured by productivity' I was triggered in a good way, a way that helps me to understand where some of my stuff is coming from.

I received a pre-publication version of this book in preparation for my upcoming interview with Sophie. I learned why I am why I am, why I struggle with certain things, and most importantly, how to overcome it. She feels like a friend spilling all of the secrets she has figured out from her own life experience and training as a psychologist. I would have given this book 4 stars until i got to the final section- the tools and resources compiled into the last section make this a 5 star book for anyone looking to manage their mental health, emotional responses, coping mechanisms (changing from negative to positive ones) and understanding yourself and your brain/emotions/attachment issues.

Jak sama autorka pisze, ludzie często idą na terapię kompletnie nieświadomi tego co się z nimi dzieje. Autorka „czułości” jest terapeutką po studiach psychologicznych w książce stara się przekazać podstawową wiedzę na temat tego skąd MOGĄ brać się nasze niektóre stany emocjonalne. Jednocześnie kilkukrotnie sugeruje, że w konkretnych przypadkach najlepiej skontaktować się z terapeutą. Jest to kompendium wiedzy, a jeśli ktoś potrzebuje zgłębić dany temat zostaje odesłany do innych pozycji lub specjalistów. Going into reading this book, I had high expectations, because I've admired her work on Instagram for years.

I’m going to be recommending this to everyone I know who is on a waiting list or unable to afford therapy. Die Autorin schlägt einen relativ fürsorglichen Ton an und schreibt, als wäre sie auf einer Augenhöhe mit dem Leser, was mir besonders gut gefallen hat. After reading about 20% of it, I did a quick-read of the rest, looking for anything new or interesting, and came up empty. In the first two sections of the book, she explains complicated concepts like attachment, the psychological impact of prejudice/discrimination, as well as the ins and outs of emotions. Do you want to know what your emotions actually are, where they come from and how to manage them when they threaten to overwhelm you?This book is very different from others and I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it to every one.

So many things made better sense to me about myself and what I can do in future to make being human a bit easier.The first part of any manual usually looks at how your machine has been put together and includes a diagnostic for problems. Das klang für mich etwas kryptisch und merkwürdig und hat mich zuerst sogar ein bisschen abgeschreckt. Wiele lat temu, kiedy bylam na poczatku swojej drogi walki o siebie, bylaby idealnym kompendium wiedzy, wiec na tym etapie mojego zycia niestety wiekszosc technik i informacji jest mi znajoma, ale zdecydowanie bedzie to dobry tytul, dla osob, ktore dopiero zaczynaja :) Niemniej jednak polecam, bo nie jest to typowy poradnik, pelen coachingowych porad, frazesow i metafor, tylko konkretna wiedza i techniki. I wish I would have had this book back in my early 20s when I was trying to understand myself, what happened to me, and how to heal from my experiences.

Much better than most self-help books out there, and one I can definitely imagine recommending to some of my therapy clients.In this practical and insightful guide, Dr Soph will help you to understand why we all feel anxious, stressed, insecure and down from time to time . Sophie Mort, a self-help / personality development book based on various principles of psychology and personality development. You can’t skip through this bit - its like trying to mend your machine without knowing what the problem is.
