About this deal

in " The BookBrowse Review" - BookBrowse's membership magazine, and in our weekly " Publishing This Week" newsletter. He opened the door, and she climbed in and sank into the leather upholstery, as if she was an old lady. Jeffrey Archer is one of the world’s bestselling authors, with sales of over 275 million copies in 97 countries, and is the only author ever to have been a number one bestseller in fiction (twenty times), short stories (four times) and non-fiction (The Prison Diaries). I carried on reading because I obviously wanted to get to the end but now I have reached it I feel a bit lost. Historical characters and events make their appearance on a regular basis including a cameo by Nazi hunter Simon Wiesenthal and British Labour leader and future Prime Minister Harold Wilson.

He served five years as a Member of Parliament in the House of Commons and has served twenty-seven years as a Member of the House of Lords. Join now to access our Study Guides library, which offers chapter-by-chapter summaries and comprehensive analysis on more than 5,000 literary works from novels to nonfiction to poetry. The key addition that Archer makes is Cedric Hardcastle who is an example of how the author is able to shift the focus of the novel on a dime, a process that he repeats often. Hardcastle’s first decision is who to support to become the next chairman of the board: Emma Clifton or Major Alex Fisher? The cover may have some limited signs of wear but the pages are clean, intact and the spine remains undamaged.

Relevancy is introduced when an emotional or financial or similar scar or trait continues to affect developments through decades.

After the Comet had taken off, Harry rejected the glass of champagne offered by a smiling air hostess, but then how could she know he had nothing to smile about?Neste volume, Jeffrey Archer dá continuidade à saga das famílias Clifton e Barrington, mas, na minha opinião este livro prendeu-se mais com os meandros dos negócios e da política e menos com as suas personagens. This book could do with a lot of editing - he never uses one word when he can use five, and there is a lot of irritating waffle and unnecessary bits and pieces, but the story is so compelling that it almost makes up for this. Jeffrey is married with two sons and three grandchildren, and lives in London, Cambridge and Majorca.

Archer's constant development of ideas set against historical events proves seamless, though he uses said events only in passing, unlike Follett or Rutherfurd in their respective multi-generational series.

Similar to the previous books, the Barringtons/Clifton's constantly try to thwart the devastating blows that are thrown their way by ruthless people who only want to see their demise. Thank God he was coming by plane and wouldn’t have to spend five days crossing the Atlantic, mourning alone. Once he’d slammed the bonnet back down he touched the rim of his hat again, but Marsden drove off without a word, not parting with the usual sixpence. or could this be the foundation for book 5 which will be out in year 2015; hence stories seems to be so scattered ?
