About this deal

I've managed to get two weeks worth of work out of this one book alone and barely scratched the surface! Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first. I felt it both related to ordinary life (here on Earth) and yet provided some imaginative ideas about a place so far away and only seen (generally) at night.

This book tells the story of Dougal who can't wait to finish his day at work as the next day his holidays start. Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example. The illustrations are beautiful and unlike any children's story I have come across before; detailed and realistic, they are wonderful discussion points with your children or school class. Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned.

The pictures had some striking beauty with their painting like character and they had real humour too and the story seemed OK.

looks at a day in the life of Bob and what he gets up to on the moon: cleaning and tidying, welcoming vistors, performing tricks for tourists and much more. is the 15th anniversary of the creation of Bob, Man on the Moon, celebrate with this anniversary edition. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated! Although at first it doesn't jump out as a 'typical' children's story as the illustrations are of an older style, this is what makes it unique and also what draws the children to it. His day ends with final checks, turning on of the moon’s nightlight and a rush-hour rocket ride home! Although it's pure fantasy, Bob does ordinary things, like taking sandwiches for his lunch and vacuuming to keep everything clean and tidy.
