I’m not sure that the downer part of the ending was really necessary, but I assume it was Kevin Smith’s way of saying that this part of the View Askewniverse has run its course. I’m told, however, that the studio is still looking into the problem with When Worlds Collide (1951) on Blu-ray (which is also in the package). But after Randal has a heart attack, he’s determined to make something of his slacker life — by shooting a movie about it!
