The seventh novel in international bestseller Julia Chapman’s Dales Detective series, perfect for fans of Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club and M. Overall I think this is totally worth it, it has all the cozy vibes one could want, characters that are fun and with depth, a dog that is the most lovable thing, a slight romantic touch and a lot of mystery. I have grown very fond of the cast of characters and the well-described locations and had been eagerly awaiting this episode.

And rather than describing crowded streets and the mayhem of city life, my eyes were drawn to the rainbow colours on the ewes’ rear ends as the breeding season got into full swing! Written in 1862, and described more recently as the original Gone Girl, this was a massive success in its time.

This works as a stand-alone but I think familiarity with past events would have added to my enjoyment. Not only is one of my most anticipated books in my grasp, but it didn't disappoint, love this series even more for having this book in it!From stolen washing to inheritance investigations, Bruncliffe’s Dales Detective Agency is being inundated with cases.
