I’ve been on a bit of a binge of this series having being late to the party with the Robert Hunter series and, alas, as of this date, I’ve read the last in the series. He always leaves part of a poem with the body and in a day or two after the murder, sends a video message to the victim's loved one. Instead, he knows he is dealing with a killer who is tremendously disciplined, systematic, creative, and patient. This is the 3rd book in the line of Hunter and Garcia stories by CC I've been reading or listening to. Then they send a wee video, well that was me, checked my front door and read it and the rest of the chapter on TT so I wasn't alone. You can’t really go into any detail about this book and the title without major spoilers so I obviously won’t.The opening chapter of this was so creepy I went my first time ever live on Tiktok as I was reading it home alone.

A brilliant but flawed protagonist, amazing side characters, killers that feel real, situations that don't require one to suspend their disbelief and a very realistic description of how a murder investigation and a killer's mind work. I worked as a criminal psychologist for several years before moving to Los Angeles, where I swapped the suits and briefcases for ripped jeans, bandanas and an electric guitar. Great storytelling and intricate puzzling together of clues provide the reader with an entertaining experience while chilling them to the core.

I can’t give too many details away as there were so many quotes and speeches throughout the book that spoke to me. Following Hunter and Garcia as they trawl through the clues trying to find the way to what is happening was a fascinating read.
