I really enjoy the standard Mount Gay Black Barrel so when I heard there were releasing version at cask strength I knew I had to try it. Wes from The Fat Rum Pirate has already compared the XOs in his review so I decided to have a look at the Black Barrels.

Mount Gay Black Barrel Barbados Golden Rum is crafted from a blend of intense and aromatic Bajan rums, distilled in traditional copper pot and column stills, matured between 3 to 7 years in American whiskey casks, and finished for 6 months in deeply charred Bourbon casks. The first-class Black Barrel Rum by Mount Gay from Barbados flows into the brightly polished glass in a strong amber hue.
