While the image of slumbering peacefully in bed next to your scrumptious newborn is the vision for most expectant parents, unfortunately the risks associated with having baby in bed can cause many parents to pass up co-sleeping.

When the crib is attached to the parent’s bed properly, you can slide the side down with one hand, and it glides down easily and, more importantly, stays down. The crib can also be moved away from the parents' bed as the child grows, allowing it to be used as a normal crib. There’s no denying it’s well-made – it feels strong and sturdy attached to the side of the bed, and the fixtures, like the zips and buttons, are all well thought out. In just one product parents can find 3 different functionalities: side-sleeping cot, traditional cot and floor bed for toddlers. Like the Next2Me Magic, the Next2Me Dream also has two mesh sides for optimal airflow to ensure baby has a cool and well ventilated sleep space.It features all the benefits of our classic Chicco Next2me with three additional features: one-hand side panel to easily change configuration, double mode: fixed or rocking and 11 adjustable height levels. The two wheels are a huge plus – thanks to them, you can easily and effortlessly move the cot wherever you like. Please note that we can only deliver furniture to mainland UK, excluding the Highlands of Scotland, Islands and Ireland. So, it's clear that the Next2Me Cribs have all been carefully designed with your sleep and sanity in mind, and this is why they continue to be a parent favourite time and time again. But I feel they could benefit from being annotated to save confusion in places, particularly as some of the pictures were so small that it was hard to work out what they were depicting.

Being such a key element to any baby bed we took special care when it came to developing the mattress on the Hush.

Although the mattress is firm, my baby was generally happy enough to settle and sleep in the crib when it was in the co-sleeping, ‘next to me’ configuration at night-time; however, he wouldn’t really entertain daytime naps. It is advised that you keep baby in your room until they reach 6 months old to prevent SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) and some parents choose to co-sleep to keep an even closer watch over their precious little one. Kirstie is currently on maternity leave and tested the crib day and night with her 10-week-old baby in both its co-sleeping and standalone functions. If there is any gap between the bedside crib and the adult bed do not use the product with the side down at any time. As far as ventilation is concerned, during the hot weather we pointed a fan at the side of the crib and there was no difference to the air temperature inside, suggesting that the fabric still doesn’t promote air passing through the mesh fabric.
