Enjoy Chris Haughton's brilliant picture book about a dog who is trying to be good - really, really trying. Little Owl falls asleep in his (rather precarious) nest, falls onto the ground with a 'bump' and becomes 'a bit lost'. That George also gets the chance to do it all again the right way shows children that they can do it too and that we all learn eventually.

The scrapes that George gets into in the book are something that most young children would consider doing. I must say that before my little boy learnt to walk I couldn't understand how (spoiler alert) he would empathise with a dog's interest in rubbish and soil - little did I know little boys like soil and rubbish too.I got this book as part of the Chris Haughton Boxed Set:This has to be my favourite book from the whole collection of Chris Haugton picture books I've read! To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. He then feels remorse for making a mess and upsetting Harry, this is the turning point as you see George’s character grow.

You can also watch our Storytime playlist on YouTube read by the likes of Ore Oduba, Adam Buxton, Fearne Cotton and many more. Kids will relate to this dog who has every intention of being good, but just can't help himself when tempted. Set to a gorgeously rich colour palette of purples, orange and deep crimson, this is a delightfully playful tale with minimal text but oodles of personality that shows how the best intentions can go awry.that is rendered like one really, really talented with the old paint programs we used to use when bored with the computer (before the internet, kids). After he behaves badly when his owner Harris is out, he tries harder on a trip to the park - but will he be able to resist temptation?

It appears Harris’s words of upset at George's unruly behaviour have influenced George’s decisions, that is until George smells a bin! a fantastic adaptation which vividly brings the book to life and elevates it into something even more engaging. This board book is small and has thick board pages that are filled with colourful illustrations and some text.which is a brilliant opportunity to stop and discuss what George should do, why he should be good etc.
