About this deal

The controller is twin to the 20th Anniversary PS4 itself, which went on sale during last year's PlayStation Experience.

ExtremeTech says the PS4's graphics processing unit offers a "serious advantage" over the competition, but due to the nature of cross-platform development, games that share the same assets will appear "very similar". Many games take advantage of the presence of two motors to provide vibration effects in stereo including Gran Turismo and the PlayStation port of Quake II. The DualShock 4 is PlayStation 4's primary controller; it maintains a similar design to previous iterations of the DualShock series, but with additional features and design refinements.

Battery life is also very poor too (even if you turn off the lightbar and speaker) and my particular controller (Gold) doesn't come with a charging cable - although I still have mine supplied with my console. In 2000, the PS one (a redesigned version of the original PlayStation) was released with a slightly redesigned DualShock Controller (SCPH-110(U)). The needless light pollution and battery drain prompted inquiries as to whether the light bar could be switched off by users. Some coin operated arcade cabinets have connections for DualShock or DualShock 2 controllers, including Namco's Tekken 5 [11] and Konami's Winning Eleven Arcade Championship 2012.
