About this deal

Ayatsuji is one of my most favorite Japanese detective novelists, I love his famous, imaginative 'Mansions series' to pieces. If you like creepy Japaneses high school stories with characters that are pretty messed up and a main character is so naive at times you wonder how they survive the rest of the book? Her cat—wearing a red collar—notices the portal first, when an identical cat in a blue collar steps through.

I haven't charted out my visits for the summer term, but I'm sure there are several in the south) and thanks so much for being so fantastic!

How would you respond if given the chance to temporarily leave your normal life and enter a world where even the laws of physics are different? For more recommendations of awesome 'locked room' genre crime and mystery novels by Japanese novelists, please check this out! Given the length of the book, I could find no reason for it to have taken that long to get to the point and move on to solving the mystery, which I assume happens in volume two.

Flipping back to previous pages, she said, “I think it’s so clever how she took the blanket off her bed and used it as a rope to climb down into the other world and find her cat. Tucked away in the government facility nicknamed the Playroom, the not-quite-human young people learn to control their strange and unpredictable abilities. In the meantime I was excited to explore this older release that has received some new cover and title treatment.I'm not sure if the description is a direct translation of the Japanese or if it's just American mistake. So, the moral of the story is…books that seem simple, like this wordless picture book are often some of the most complicated texts because they require us to slow down and use our imaginations.

Another is a wordless picture book that details the adventures of a young girl who follows her cat through a portal into a world where everybody has a double. Around the time that the first death occurred, I was as frustrated as Sakakibara with the way everyone was avoiding his questions, but more frustrated with the amount of time it was taking for him to figure out the truth of his existence on his own. As a rule, I would generally steer away from a title that has been previously used, unless the book is entirely unrelated to its ‘twin’. Despite this atmosphere and warnings from fellow students, Koichi is drawn to the beautiful, distant Mei Misaki, another classmate.I'm a very visual reader and also a fan of anime and manga, so I was easily able to visualize the characters and setting. Christian Robinson's ability to turn elementary shapes into something more is remarkable, a feature I loved about Last Stop on Market Street, which earned him a 2016 Caldecott Honor.
