The thing is after Slammed and POR they are together, this is not a spoiler, this is something you know when you start this book. But can I just say that barely 10 lines into the book, every, single emotion that the original books had instilled in me came flooding back.

Will is the ultimate swoon-worthy boyfriend, and Layken isn’t the idiot girlfriend that are in most books these days! All those amazing reviews and ratings of Slammed series talk for themselves and This Girl is no exception. The character development that was so evident in her first book was lost in this book - Layken's character came across as a pathetic little bitch who needs to get over the fact that her husband went on one date. As Will retells their story from his point of view, he reflects back on the hard times they faced together, unveiling truths that Layken never knew . There's really not much more to say, the majority of us know Lake and Will's story, and for a retelling CoHo did an amazing job.

Though Sky is determined to stay far away from him, his unwavering pursuit and enigmatic smile break down her defences and the intensity of the bond between them grows. Their story slammed our hearts and we are seriously, deeply, madly, incredibly and undeniably fell in love with it.

I was looking forward to spending some more time with Will, Layken and their family and I got exactly what I had expected. And well, reading the story from Will's POV surely provided a lot of *swoon* and *sigh* worthy moments.Throw listening to I And Love And You by the Avett Brothers into the mix and we’ll be right back to April 2013 in the blink of an eye. It wasn't always an easy story to read, we don't only get to re-live the beautiful, joyous moments, but also the sad, heartbreaking ones. I do not usually enjoy these alternate POVs because it feels a bit dangerous messing up with beloved characters.

There's very little, if anything truly *new* about this book, and the material that is considered new?I'm going to forget that ever went through this lovely boy's head because, seriously why are you asking me to hate you, Will? Every time I read Colleen Hoover's books, I am left speechless, emotionally attached, and not wanting to let go. I’ve loved you since the second I laid eyes on you and I haven’t stopped loving you for a second since.

For a while I tried to alternate reading the scenes here and the equivalent scenes in Slammed but go too lazy and figured, this should stand on its own merits outside that book. I loved getting to see Will's side of things, of his struggle to maintain his integrity while his heart was telling him to do otherwise. Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met. After all, we know the story of Slammed already and we had previously heard Will’s voice in Point of Retreat so we knew what to expect from him. This after he went out on a date with Taylor, which he kept as a secret from Layken until their honeymoon.

I mean, I like reading about perfect characters but sometimes authors don’t keep them real and that’s what I felt while reading this. In Hopeless, Sky left no secret unearthed, no feeling unshared and no memory forgotten, but Holder's past remains a mystery. The goods do not need to be in their original packaging however in a sellable condition, and at your own cost and risk.
