About this deal

The Dell Latitude E6430 ATG is the latest in a long line of rugged and semi-rugged laptops from Dell. This great result is achieved because our Latitude's computation score, the computing-intensive test range, places it at the top with a big gap to all previously tested laptops with its computation score (26762 points). Nevertheless, it is recommended to connect a sound system because the given sound is not especially satisfactory here. Typing however sounds a bit louder than usual and a bit clattery, which is quite contrary to the keyboard's solid, tactile feedback. Whereas consumer notebooks usually consists of little more than a plastic case with a motherboard attached, semi-rugged designs are generally more complex, even if it's in subtle ways.

Designed to be durable for the professional who works from home as much as the office, the Latitude E6430 offers a 14" screen and a docking ecosystem. You will be asked to agree to the terms of the applicable license at the time that you install the software. And much to Dell's credit, for this latest ATG model, the company has scaled back the flowery prose in earlier ATG marketing materials and replaced it with more straightforward information about the materials and methods used to make the machine tougher.

The labeling looks crisp and clean, with none of the busy look that happens when manufacturers print too much onto keys. For those interested in how the semi-rugged ATG compares inside to the fully-rugged XFR, the picture below shows them side-by-side. Compare your selected model with other alternatives and give your decision on the best laptop a solid base with our comprehensive overview. The bottom half of the housing then comes off, and there aren't any wires or connectors that connect the two halves to worry about. This is the worst possible scenario for transmissive displays, and it absolutely pushes the limit with what is possible today via combinations of direct bonding and optical treatments. Currently we use the Metrahit Energy, a professional single phase power quality and energy measurement digital multimeter, for our measurements.

PCMag is obsessed with culture and tech, offering smart, spirited coverage of the products and innovations that shape our connected lives and the digital trends that keep us talking. It's tougher than a consumer laptop, but not as tough as a fully rugged one (and the term "rugged" isn't really defined either).Designed to be business rugged for the professional who works from home as much as the office, the Latitude E6430 offers a 14" screen and a docking ecosystem. High Performance" mode cranks the backlight up to full blast, and the discharge rate rose to just under 15 watts, good for 6. The "Quiet -- Reduced Fan" setting also used about the same (the fan, by the way, is very quiet to begin with). That's a wider version of the 1024 x 768 XGA standard still very common in vertical market custom software.

Ultrabook, Celeron, Celeron Inside, Core Inside, Intel, Intel Logo, Intel Atom, Intel Atom Inside, Intel Core, Intel Inside, Intel Inside Logo, Intel vPro, Itanium, Itanium Inside, Pentium, Pentium Inside, vPro Inside, Xeon, Xeon Phi, and Xeon Inside are trademarks of Intel Corporation in the U. Unleash your productivity with a range of performance options, including powerful Intel Core processors, large high-bandwidth memory and solid state drive. Both laptops' anti-glare screens easily handle reflections, but the ATG's display is noticeably brighter. The protective doors provide physical protection, not sealing, and this is one area of the ATG that looks a bit unfinished. Most scenes can still be enjoyed fairly smoothly with 30 fps in low details and a resolution of 800x600 in DX9 mode.
