Many were originally written for American magazines such as Ladies Home Journal, Harper's, Playboy and The New Yorker, then subsequently collected by Dahl into anthologies, gaining world-wide acclaim. Silver is overcome with joy and invites Mr Hoppy down to her apartment to show off her lovely tortoise. But it's going to take one hundred and forty tortoises, an ancient spell, and a little bit of magic.

The story feels a little deceitful and it's also simply fun and I find myself enjoying the silly antics of Mr.

Whilst the story may have a happy ending (as much as it can be when you are tricking someone into doing something), the method used to get there isn’t a very good message to be sending.
