About this deal

An almighty positive which came out of a terrible year, let it inspire us all to stand tall, look the new year right in the eye and resolve to speak our truth. Fearne Cotton is one of the best known and most popular broadcasters in the UK and is most recently known as the Founder of the wellbeing brand, Happy Place. I loved the practical tips and big questions at the end of each chapter to get you thinking and reflecting. At the start of 2020, Cotton discovered she was at risk of needing a throat operation, followed by weeks of recovering in silence.

This book is a way to release what's going on inside your head and to keep heading towards the good stuff.Fearne, by her own admission has had many opportunities in her life, as well as counterpointing them with even more hard work. Fearne Cotton leads you through the process, giving you prompts, to help you understand what your truth may be and how you may be able to speak it better. So, when Fearne's doctor told her she was at risk of needing a throat operation followed by two weeks of being unable to speak, she found herself facing a period of unexpected contemplation. Her voice is her career, her livelihood and the way she communicates with her audience and her loved ones. Fearne Cotton wrote Speak Your Truth at this time, and it is the second of her books which I have worked on.

Fearne began to think about other times her voice had gone unheard as a young woman, as 'just the talent', as the foil to louder, more dominant figures. When I design books, my role is to create a visual style for the pages which reflects the voice of the celebrity and content of the text, echoes the cover, appeals to the audience, is legible and accessible. Although I’d heard of her other books — Happy, Calm, and Quiet— I still thought of Cotton as the Radio 1 presenter and TV show host. Your honesty and insecurities laid bare help me to identify with you and the subject of speaking your truth.

Cotton is no ultimate yogi, but her book is like chatting to a friend about how truth comes up in our everyday lives and considers how we sometimes feel unable to be wholly honest. Fearne Cotton’s voice is familiar to millions, whether that’s through television, radio or on her hugely successful Happy Place podcast. Speak Your Truth dives into all the ways we learn to stay quiet for the wrong reasons, and explores how to. How incredibly inspiring to watch a public figure, publicly talk about how TV Hosting and Radio Presenting isn’t her truth.

For many of us, life can feel like it's moving too fast with pressure bearing down on us from all sides - whether that's from school or work, family or social media. Please include what you were doing when this page came up and the Cloudflare Ray ID found at the bottom of this page. Brave, vulnerable and deeply personal, Speak Your Truth shares Fearne's compelling story and helps you to shape your own. In 2005 she joined Radio 1 where she spent 10 incredible years, initially co-hosting morning shows with Reggie Yates and then moving onto the UK Top 40 show before taking over the prestigious weekday morning slot in 2009; here she mixed big celebrity interviews with exclusive acoustic performances in the Live Lounge.I am sure many people will relate to Fearne’s accounts of how damaging it is when we don’t speak our truth - I certainly did, it was like reading about myself! Brave, vulnerable and deeply personal, Speak Your Truth shares Fearne’s compelling story and helps you to shape your own. Rebecca has been a part of the Happy Place Tribe since the beginning providing tips, interviews and sessions with how the breath can help us through challenging times.

In a world constantly telling us how to look, what to wear, what to say, how to take the perfect selfie, how to live, knowing your truth will set you free and just let you live, breathe and take 5 on life! It is written in such a down-to-earth way, which also makes it very relatable, and will encourage anyone who doesn’t have the confidence to speak up and let the world know who they are and what they stand for. She tells the listener (or reader) about the challenge of being home together with restricted outlets.I was really looking forward to reading this book, as I really like ferne and what she stands for even more so in recent years. I hate offending people really and I always say sorry when I’ve spoken truthfully and the saddest thing is I’ve then contradicted myself. Thankyou for helping me question those truths and making me aware of more truth telling humans that I can’t wait to discover and learn from! This was the first in a series of books talking about her own, and some of the not so positive, experiences with happiness.
