About this deal

Zoe and Will definitely love each other and each of their baggage is pretty harsh to learn about, but I had a hard time connecting with these two characters on so many levels because they seemed extremely childish and not in a negative way, more of in a very naïve sense. There’s only two people in it, and I knew EXACTLY where it was heading at all times, so no mystery there. Nobody But Us is told in alternating (and very distinct) perspectives from the points-of-view of WIll and Zoe. The author was trying waaaayyyy too hard to make this a literary masterpiece and it was coming across more like a wattpad fanfic. Before I even start, let me get something out of the way - a mix between If I Stay meets Bonnie and Clyde this book is NOT.

I actually stopped reading to look up whether this was a romance novel, but no, it’s supposedly literary suspense. She just wasn’t a strong enough heroine for my to admire, and even worse, one that didn’t show character growth. The ability to spend top dollar for exploits is considered a NOBUS capability since many other entities often cannot spend that much on an exploit. This geographical positioning was one of the reasons that the US was leading the SIGINT charge early on. Kristin Halbrook’s beautiful, heartbreaking, fearless tale of two damaged teens on the run is the best contemporary I’ve read in a long time. Nobody But Us starts at the end where a horrific incident has occurred in a remote house which is set in an idyllic location. Right then you would know this is going to be a getaway-gone-wrong even if you’d gone into this book blind.

In other words, when the exploit is used to steal information or corrupt a system, the developers have zero-days to fix it. Regardless, what I do know is that Nobody But Us is a strong debut, and a stark depiction of teens facing horrid circumstances which they're ill-equipped to handle. Irritierend fand ich auch die Rückblicke, die immer wieder in der Geschichte auftauchen und die ich nicht wirklich zuordnen konnte.

As technology advanced, this separation between offensive SIGINT, the act of intercepting adversaries communications, and defensive SIGINT, the act of protecting one's own messages, began to disappear. This proves symbolic as nothing inside or out of the book, is quite as it appears from first glance.

Though little appears as it is presented, for their weekend will turn into something far more dangerous. Personally, I think Ellie could have done with a complete overhaul because I do not think she has good characterization. They literally are on the run–from her father, from their pasts, and from the law–and they make some pretty terrible choices along the way. The level of investment she managed to garner induced me to care about whether either of them made it out unscathed.

This is a novel that consumed me, that I was loathe to set aside, yet which also horrified me at the same time. Despite all the hurdles thrown at them, show they’re stronger and over the course of time, their love for each other really comes through their relationship.

However, both Steven and Ellie are not who they want people to think they are, and as the story unfolds, the horror of the situation intensifies.Definitely going to be one of my favourite reads of this year' 5* READER REVIEW 'Characters, dialogues, plot, narration and execution of the story is brilliant. The book has a locked-room type vibe as the reader tries to figure out the true motivations of the characters.
