My trust was not misplaced and the book appears to give just the right amount of advice to enable an experienced cook to make the changeover from another source of fuel. I did a bit of washing up (I’m one of those cooks who clears up as she goes along) and prepared the filling while this was happening. Complete with all the AGA user information, Mary and Lucy help you get the most out of your AGA as they guide the reader through time and energy saving tips - from melting chocolate on the back of the AGA, to cooking drop scones on the Boiling Plate and slow roasting overnight in your Simmering Oven. I never got round to making it then but when I found a jar of sun-dried tomatoes which needed using up in my fridge recently, the recipe sprang to mind and I dug it out. I made mine in the afternoon and it was happy to wait in the tin and be placed in the oven at bedtime.

Then, I realised it was written and created with today's eating styles in mind and was just terrific.
