About this deal

Milton Sterilising Tablets have been created, to sterilise your baby’s items by using only cold water. This method of cleaning has been used for many years by parents and medical professionals alike. The tablets have been specifically formulated to kill 99.9% of germs. It’s basic and utilitarian, coming in white and grey, and is unlikely to be out on the counter when not in use. Is it good value for money? Because maltitol is slowly absorbed by the body, part of the ingested substance reaches the large intestine where metabolism yields fewer calories. As a result, maltitol has just 2.1 calories per gram (kcal/g), nearly half of the caloric value of sucrose (4.0 kcal/g), and is therefore useful in the production of sugar-free products, especially sucrose-free chocolate, confectionery and ice cream. They also loved how convenient these tablets were when on holiday or away from home and they couldn't be easier to use. Full product specs

The product is easy to use. I'm impressed that it is useful for a full 5 litre tub of water as I did see some other boxes of tablets that only cover around 2.3 litres which is frustrating when most containers are 5 litres. I have always seen Milton to be the leaders in the sterilising industry, my parents always used Milton and other family members on their children." In warm soapy water (or with Milton baby bottle cleaner), ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned. All residues should be rinsed from the item, before using the sterilising tablets. In 5L of cold clean water, drop 1 tablet and leave to dissolve, this makes your sterilising solution. The items you wish to sterilise should be fully submerged in the solution for a minimum of 15 minutes, to ensure they are fully sterilised. Hazards and Cautions Once the required 15 minutes are up, each item can be shaken and used without further rinsing – though our tester found her baby equipment smelled of chlorine afterwards and felt hesitant about giving it to her baby (it’s perfectly safe to do so, but the smell is rather off-putting).Maltitol and other polyols are recognised as reduced-calorie sweeteners/alternatives to sugar by the European Union (EU) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Beneficial for people with diabetes

Milton sterilising tablets have been expertly developed to sterilise baby items using cold water. The Milton cold water method of sterilising has been used by mums and hospitals for over 70 years and has been specifically formulated to kill 99.9% of germs. Ideal for use at home, travel and overnight stays. The solution is effective for 24 hours and there is no need to rinse baby items bafore they go into baby's mouth. Use to sterilise all breastfeeding equipment and baby feeding accessories: breast pump parts, baby bottles, soothers, teething rings, small plastic toys, plastic cutlery and weaning items. Our mum testers loved how versatile these sterilising tablets were, they were great for keeping everything from bottles to toys and teethers clean. As the Milton Cold Water Steriliser isn’t electric, it can be kept anywhere from the sink to the garden. It can also be thrown into a kitchen unit, the under-stairs cupboard or bathroom for storage, which our tester found appealing. Maltitol is part of a family of bulk sweeteners called sugar alcohols (polyols). It is about 90% as sweet as sugar (sucrose) and is very similar in taste, but boasts significantly less calories (only 2.1 calories per gram).

For these reasons, maltitol is commonly used in the production of a variety of low-calorie, low-fat and sugar-free foods I used the tablets to sterilise some bottles whilst away. It made things a lot easier and meant I didn't have to take lots of equipment away with me. I have also used them for cleaning down surfaces like my child's toys. They worked particularly well on cleaning the straps on my highchair. I left them to soak overnight." The process involves dissolving tablets or fluid into the container of water and submerging items in it for 15 minutes as per manufacturer guidelines – the NHS recommends 30 minutes. More items can be added as and when they’re used.
