When he sneaks the cheese, he creeps around, not making any noise, but someone by now must have noticed that we’re down about 12 ounces of cheese every day plus a commensurate amount of crackers. I knew we as readers would be leaping tall feelings in a single bound, wholeheartedly loving every minute of it, relishing every finely nuanced step of the journey through the familiar yet thrilling world this author so beautifully paints with his words. Remember, the journey through a book series is not just about reaching the end but also about the memories created along the way. A Dog’s Promise is the heart-warming and uplifting story about a dog who helps a family that are on the verge of breaking apart.This book touched my heart and like the others in the series left me with a sense of love and comfort.

Their utter irresistibility helps a long way in terms of getting past the corny plot machinations of A Dog’s Purpose. In addition to dismal reviews (a 34% “rotten” rating on Rotten Tomatoes), just three weeks before opening, the family film had been accused of on-set animal abuse. The second book in the series, A Dog’s Journey, had a very different structure than A Dog’s Purpose.
