THIRD READ: this book has its problems and annoying stereotypes but the grip it has on me is embarrassing 😭😭 out off all the hs bully- enemies to lovers- this is one of my favourites. The good thing is that she has always been a rabid consumer of fanfiction, TV, movie, books, and games and has millions of characters living inside her head. Hero was "dating" a girl (who was more likely chasing the Hero for any kind of attention he was willing to give) up until 75% of the book.Instead, I go back into the room, closing the door behind me, to take care of a girl who’d felt like a princess. No kid with ten years old speaks like that, they are clever for sure, but they don't talk like that simply because they are too young. You can tell that Gwen has a positive effect on him, and he becomes a much less jaded and self-centered person. She made him work for weeks for her forgiveness for something that he wasn’t responsible for, and that he had already done the right thing with. The former special forces officer is heading to Europe, to go face to face with some of Putin's most killer henchmen!
