About this deal

Richard and Valérie lead an engaging cast of characters and the setting of a Renaissance chateau with real-life Napoleonic connections is well integrated with the mystery plot. Best-Selling author Ian Moore is also a stand-up comedian and conference host in the UK, and husband, father of three boys, farmhand, chutney-maker and Basil Fawlty impersonator in France.

The ebook(s) will then appear on your Kindle device (or Kindle app) after a few minutes, assuming the device is connected to wifi. Richard’s ‘posh bed and breakfast’ has been taken over by the cast and crew of a big Hollywood movie being filmed at a nearby chateau, and he and Valerie’s new security firm have been hired to keep an eye on things. I do also think this could be enjoyed as a standalone read, and overall is a great summer read for anyone who enjoys a cosy mystery with a good dose of self-deprecating British humour!Richard’s three ladies (hens; cluck-cluck) make a guest appearance but I hope they play a bigger role in the next installment. Ian Moore's "A Follet Valley Mystery" 3 Books Collection Set delivers a delightful and immersive reading experience for mystery enthusiasts and lovers of the French countryside. A gentle book with farce like qualities mixed with the number of deaths along the lines of Midsomer Murders makes an entertaining light read.

In this third book of the Follet Murder Mystery Series, I’m finding myself more drawn to this pair and the other reoccurring characters in the series. Fun quirky characters with a mix of both French and English ex-pats with a good dollop of Hollywood thrown in the mix. To get to the bottom of things, Valerie Dorcay and Richard offer catering services to the hastily resumed production. This book was every bit of excitement and adventure that I was hoping for and as always an incredibly enjoyable experience. How this has not been snapped up by the BBC to be made into ‘Sunday Night Telly’ is beyond me, he’s even written a Christmas special! I have now read all three Follet Valley mysteries and I have to say that I have never ever read anything quite so entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny!

But then an extra, who is 102 years old (a bit lived already) has a heart attack while playing Napoleon in close-ups from behind. In starting this book, I did have some trouble getting initially invested in the plot, but once the plot was established, it was smooth sailing from there.
