About this deal

The GROHE Red technology then allows you to draw up to four litres of filtered kettle-hot water directly from the tap in an instant, so there is no waiting around. There’s a lot of choice out there now, but Fohen’s colour range and prices really drew me in. I knew I wanted something beyond the standard chrome to make our kitchen feel extra special, so when I found the pink Fahrenheit tap it was love at first sight! We also wanted something that was simple to use and didn’t take up too much space under the sink. The boiler unit is nice and compact, and the whole system is significantly cheaper compared to other big brands out there. What’s not to love? Should you buy a boiling water tap? That is a question we have answered in greater depth in a feature entitled, ' Should you buy a boiling water tap?' Logically enough. You may also be interested in Boiling water tap vs instant kettle (and kettle!) Here's the key points. Think about the cost of this wasted water, and the energy used to boil it all to only use one or two cups at a time. The included water filter is adjustable according to the water hardness of your home, which will help prolong the life of the filter until you need to change it. Monitoring its performance is easy, as it will update you as to when it needs replacing.

Upon releasing the lever, the hot water stops. The boiler then reheats the contents, ready for next time. There are also some which produce fizzy carbonated water too, but these are rarer. You pay a price for these features, but if you think you’d get the use out of them then it could be a good investment. Safety The Fohën Flare features classic ceramic mixer lever handles with the modern functionality of a 360-degree swivel boiling water spout and a separate hand-held flexible spout. The tap suits a Belfast sink perfectly. The tap itself can be cleaned like any other, paying particular attention to limescale around the nozzle. Brass construction, chrome finish, 3L tank, 4 temperature settings, 80-98°C temperature range, removable filtration unit.

Faulty appliances can prove to be a real headache, which is why looking at what warranties are offered can save costs and stress down the line. Let’s examine the warranty periods for our three boiling water taps : Tap

Safety-wise, you have to depress a button and hold it down to turn the dial to dispense boiling water, to prevent mistakes (rather like the button for turning a shower temperature up high). There’s also an optional safety cover to keep little hands off it altogether. The spout is insulated, so cool to touch.

It has the ability to produce 2.4L of water every minute, so if you are having to boil several pans-worth of vegetables or pasta, hot water is available at the operation of a lever. In our best boiling water tap guide, we've included 7 of the best models on the market from Grohe, Qettle, Quooker, InSinkErator, Franke, and Perrin & Rowe. Some will include water filters, and all come with top-of-the-range safety features to keep you and your family safe when you've got a boiling water tap in your kitchen. Whilst we've not yet had hands-on experience reviewing these taps, we've sought other customer experiences and recommendations, plus used our own expertise, to present you this shortlist. Essentially, we've done the groundwork for you.The flow from the dedicated boiling water tap is just a little spluttery, in the sense of not quite being a seamless flow. It spits a little when you first turn, then starts shooting out. This can sound a bit worrying, but doesn’t actually spray all over the place or anything – it goes straight down into your mug or pot easily enough. The water from this tap comes from a boiling unit hidden under your sink, which keeps water at your desired temperature all the time, ready to go. This is a well-insulated tank, and Fohen estimates that it costs around 9p per day to operate, which the company says is less than it costs to boil a kettle, based on how many times it’s boiled in the average household. The design is nice enough too. The spout has a J shape, it comes in a range of metal finishes and you can choose between Modern for a contemporary kitchen or Classic, with its white lever handles and subtly flared base. But it doesn’t have the fancy design details and glowing lights of premium boiling water taps. You don’t really want to be changing temperature often, though – it’s a single button you use to cycle through temperatures. Some boiling water taps have a slider or controls that make it easier to go up and down – this is very much a ‘set it and forget it’ setup.
