About this deal

Within the Covenant, the Domotos-pattern fireblade is a weapon typically carried by high-ranking Sangheili, like Sangheili Zealots. [6] Following the Human-Covenant War and the dissolution of the Covenant, the Domotos-pattern energy sword was inherited by its splinter factions, including the Banished, [9] the Sword of Sanghelios, [11] [12] and Jul 'Mdama's Covenant. [7] [8] Spartan-II Leon-011 carries a customized Domotos-pattern energy sword. [13] [14] In Halo 5: Guardians, the energy sword can turn Spartan charges into one-hit-kills if active. As the Spartan uses the sword to accomplish this, doing so consumes battery. Some variants, notably the Pelosus-pattern energy sword, contain a fail-safe mechanism that can permanently disable the weapon if the Sangheili wielder drops it. [15] When dropped, the failsafe engages by deactivating the magnetic field before dispersing the plasma. The plasma then consumes the handle and thus destroys the weapon. The fail-safe is included to prevent enemy from acquiring the weapon and using it. [16]

During the Zeta Halo campaign in 2559- 2560, 'Vagaduun used the weapon in a combat encounter with John-117, though was defeated by the Spartan. [9] In-game information [ edit ] Halo Infinite [ edit ] Main article: Energy sword Mdama keep variant - A variant manufactured by 'Mdama keep in 2558. The plasma burned less intensely, thus making it harder to cut armor, but causing more grievous injuries and not cauterizing wounds. These swords took advantage of the Sangheili code of honor to make every wound a death blow, as Sangheili who wanted to retain their honor would often commit suicide. [7] Last but not least, the Type-1 Energy Weapon can sometimes betray the position of a Sangheili warrior employing active camouflage due to the weapon's energy output. In Halo 5: Guardians, the weapon itself appears "sharper," and the sound effects are more metallic. When wielding the energy sword the player moves slightly faster, Spartan Charges are an instant-kill, and Smart Scoping allows for more range and lunge distance. Several REQ variants are also featured in the game, each with its own abilities and appearance including faster swinging, extra thrust charges, or Active Camouflage. The energy sword no longer drains energy when hitting surfaces, only by striking specific destructible objects and enemies.Bloodblade - A red colored energy sword, [55] [56] notably used by certain Special Operations units, [17] such as the Silent Shadow. [47] [55] Observed to be compatible with the Meluth'qelos-pattern, [57] the Pelosus-pattern, and the unidentified pattern variants. [47] In Halo 2: Anniversary from The Master Chief Collection, the Energy Sword is was redesigned slightly to resemble the iteration from Halo: Reach more. My assignment was to make a light/lamp using only plastics and a light source (LEDs in my piece). This was my first attempt in thermaforming acrylic sheets and PVC pipe using only a heatgun. Because of size limitation of acrylic plastic material given to us (12"x24" sheets) for the project, the sword is smaller than scale as depicted in the video game. The finished dimensions is approx 24" total length x 12" at it's widest point. The smaller size however is ideal for carrying it around and for small kids to hold. It is very solid and strongly put together, but it is NOT a toy for kids or adults to swing at people, pets, or things. That could be dangerous. If I were to build another sword, Ideally I would make it from 28-32" length. The pic of me and friends holding the sword shows how bright it glows. ALL pics are not photoshopped except for the watermarks. Within the Banished, there is no enforced uniformity for the energy sword, allowing each warrior to customize their weapons to their own needs. [10] That being said, the most common variants appear to be the Domotos-pattern and the Meluth'qelos-pattern. [48] [49] Variants [ edit ] Patterns The energy dagger is the Sangheili adaptation of the Forerunner misericordia blade-tools. [1] The design bears much resemblance to the energy sword. Unlike the energy sword, however, it ends in a single point as opposed to the dual prongs of the energy sword. It appears to be mounted to a device worn on the wrists of the user. It is possible to use two daggers simultaneously, with one on each wrist. [2] Non-canon and dubious canon appearances [ edit ] Silver Timeline [ edit ] Main article: Silver Timeline

a b Halo Waypoint, Halo 4 Interactive Guide - Covenant Weapons (Retrieved on Mar 27, 2014) [local archive] [external archive]The sword is fairly bright daytime unless you are in direct sunlight. During night or dimly lit rooms, the glow is amazing and really looks like an energy sword. The Duelist Energy Sword was carried and used by Toha 'Sumai, a renowned Sangheili blademaster. The weapon was taken from 'Sumai some time prior to March 2555, when his former-student Okro 'Vagaduun assassinated the blademaster. The weapon was used by 'Sumai to defend himself from 'Vagaduun in a martial duel done as part of 'Vagaduun's initiation into the Banished, with one of Atriox's core teachings being to reject honour and all previous loyalties. Following 'Sumai's death, 'Vagaduun retrieved the Duelist Energy Sword his former master's body and proceeded to carry it throughout his career in the Banished. [8] In Halo 3, if a Mongoose is coming at you, you can actually sword-lunge over the windshield and kill the driver or passenger if there is one. But it requires very precise timing.

This is a college art project I just completed. Halo Covenant sword is a weapon well-known to fans of the popular Xbox franchise. Unfortunately since I'm new to instructables, I did not document step-by-step photos, but I want to share highlights of my project. I plan on improving this "prototype" after I build a vacuum form table. If there's enough interest from viewers, I plan on publishing an improved instructable. Within the Covenant military, use of the energy sword is not restricted to aristocrats. [25] Sangheili Minors are generally not permitted to wield the sword because of the high regard in which it is held, [27] though exceptions have been witnessed. [43] [44] Storm troops, [45] Ultras, Zealots, Generals, special operation officers, stealth troops, and honor guardsmen commonly use energy swords. [25] [46] Some Sangheili special forces units, notably the Silent Shadow, employed bloodblades, blood red-colored energy swords which burn hotter than more common models. [11] [17] [47] Once the personal Energy Sword of Jega 'Rdomnai—now a hard-won memento of his defeat." — In-game description [16] The Fable 2: Limited Edition comes with "Hal's Sword," a crystal blade shaped like an Energy Sword for in-game use, to coincide with the use of "Hal's Armour," which resembles Mjolnir armor. [27] Unidentified energy sword pattern - A variant with a widened gap between the two blades above its hilt. [53]

A duel between Haka 'Suukaree, who is wielding a traditional Sangheili blade weapon, and Fal 'Chavamee, who is wielding a Pelosus-pattern energy sword. The Domotos-pattern fireblade is one of the many energy sword variants manufactured by the Covenant. The Domotos-pattern is characterized by its angular contour and a rectangular hole along the inner edge of either blades. [2] The design for the blade's contour likely arose during the Writ of Union, as murals recording the event in Nuusra, Sanghelios, depicted ancient San'Shyuum and ancient Sangheili sharing blades of the same design. [10] Usage [ edit ]

When combating againist an enemy using an energy sword, it is essential to keep your distance from them. Try using your ranged weapons aganist an enemy wielding an energy sword. Survival is minimal at best and in the case of non-lethal strikes being administered, proper medical treatment must be applied as soon as possible to ensure permanent survival. Because of the weapon's sheer destructive damage, common forms of fatality to victims include total impalement, [19] [36] [37] loss of limbs, [38] bodies being bisected, [39] [40] and even decapitation. [41] The Sangheili are very strict on who can be trained in the art of swordsmanship; in civilian life, only aristocrats are permitted to wield energy swords. [25] Sword wielders are not eligible for marriage, though they may breed with any female they choose, married or otherwise, to ensure that the genetic material which result in sword-wielding traits are properly transmitted to each subsequent generation. [4] [42] The Energy Sword is the signature weapon of the Sangheili, and has been their weapon of nobility since its creation during one of their Ages of Discovery. [5] Viewed as a holy weapon, [6] the Sangheili pride themselves on their skills with it. [7] They believe that it is better for a Sangheili to fall on his sword as an act to redeem his honor. [6] [8] [9] The Sangheili are also very strict on who can be trained in the art of swordsmanship - only aristocrats are permitted to wield Energy Swords, and sword wielders are no longer eligible for marriage. Breeding with any female they choose is permitted, married or otherwise, to ensure successful transmission of "swordsman" genes. [10] In service to the Covenant, Sangheili of a high or important rank are permitted to wield this weapon - lower ranks are not permitted to wield the sword because of its high status. [6] In the Covenant, Sangheili Ultras, Sangheili Zealots, Special Operations Sangheili, Stealth Sangheili, Sangheili High Councilors, and Sangheili Honor Guardsman are permitted to use Energy Swords. Jumping can make the Energy Sword much more fearsome, brutally effective and accurate. Jump and point your reticle down, waiting until it turns red to lunge at the opponent. The shape of the energy sword is very similar to the real-life combat weapon, the katar. It was a South Asian weapon and status symbol, similar to the energy sword's symbolization of status among the Sangheili. The Type-1 Energy Weapon/Sword consists of a curved hilt, housing an energy storage module and a device for projecting the plasma which forms the blade. The actual blade is composed of two partially ionized 'blades' of free moving electron based gas held in a blade-like form by two small magnetic-field generators built into the handle of the weapon. This forms and contains the oval shaped, ionized blades for which the weapon is recognized. [4] [11] The battery's energy is reduced for each successful strike. Each killing strike from the sword will drain the battery by 10% of its energy. Once the battery power is fully depleted, the sword will deactivate unless recharged, something players couldn't do until Halo Infinite. The energy sword was first introduced in Halo: Combat Evolved, albeit unusable by players. It was then made available to players in Halo 2 and has become a mainstay weapon in series ever since. The energy sword is a powerful melee weapon in close-quarters combat, capable of killing most foes with a single strike. It is a power weapon that appears on some multiplayer maps. In both Halo 2 and Halo 3, the Energy Sword is a very strong anti- Flood weapon, as it will destroy Flood Combat Forms and Flood Pure Forms in one strike (although if an infected Sangheili still has its shield, it may take two or more swipes, depending on the difficulty setting). Due to its limited energy supply it's more advisable to use a Brute Shot to melee instead, as it serves the same function and cannot run out of energy. Meluth'qelos-pattern energy sword - A variant with angular contours that saw use among the Banished during the Battle for Zeta Halo. [49]
